Day One - Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City

I have wanted to see Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City for a long time. It did not disappoint! It was hot and humid of course but very mild compared to our trip two years ago. Brig is a big hit among the locals and by the end of the day he felt like a celebrity. He even started holding my hand because people would just take him and start taking his picture. He was a really good sport.

We learned that there are 9,999 1/2 rooms. There are 15 layers of alternating ground stones to keep assassins from tunneling into the Forbidden City, and you can't ask about the student uprising at Tiananmen Square - that's a big no no!
